Cairo Day Trip Itinerary

• Hotel pickup
  Around 1:00 AM. The exact time comes after booking. The drive from Hurghada to Cairo by air-conditioned vehicle takes 6 to 7 hours, with one short stop on the way.
• The museum, Egyptian or Grand
  In Cairo you meet your Egyptologist guide, who stays with you all day. You start at the museum you chose when booking: the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square, or the Grand Egyptian Museum near the Pyramids, which opened in November 2025.
• Buffet lunch
  A buffet lunch at a local restaurant overlooking the Nile. Drinks are paid separately.
• Giza Plateau – Pyramids and Sphinx
  The Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. The Great Pyramid is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and your guide explains the history of the site.
• Papyrus institute and perfume factory
  You see how papyrus is made and how traditional Egyptian fragrance oils are produced.
• Optional Nile boat ride
  A 30-minute ride on the Nile by motorboat (+€10), with a view of Cairo from the water.
• Return to Hurghada
  The bus drives back to Hurghada and you arrive at your hotel around 11:00 PM. The time can change a little with traffic and where your hotel is.

Cairo with the Grand Egyptian Museum — Prices

The Grand Egyptian Museum opened in November 2025. It sits 2 km from the Pyramids and holds the complete Tutankhamun collection — all 5,398 pieces displayed together for the first time — along with the 83-ton statue of Ramses II in the Grand Hall. The galleries have panoramic windows facing the Giza Pyramids.

A day trip to the Grand Egyptian Museum and the Pyramids by air-conditioned coach with an Egyptologist guide.

VIP GEM by Minivan

A small group of up to 8 people. Faster transfers and more time at the museum and the Pyramids.

Private Trip to the GEM and the Pyramids

Your own Egyptologist guide and vehicle, at your own pace. This option takes about 19 hours (2:00 AM – 9:00 PM).
